About us

Over one billion people are at risk of hearing damage due to unsafe recreational listening practices.(link WHO page)
The Make Listening Safe initiative was launched by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2015, and it aims to support people of all ages to enjoy recreational listening without risking their hearing.
On this platform we aim to raise awareness about the importance of safe listening, and will provide information about evidence-based standards, including the WHO-ITU Global standard for safe listening devices and systems, and the Global standard for safe listening venues and events. Links to these materials from the WHO can be found in the resources section.
This research-based work is performed in collaboration with global partners, whom we thank for their valuable insights.
